Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the school day? School starts at 8:45 AM and ends at 3:45 PM.
What time are students let in the building? Students are admitted to the building at 8:35 AM unless attending a morning activity. 
What is the pupil/teacher ratio? K-3 no larger than 20-1. 4th-6th no larger than 24-1.
Who should I contact if we enrollat Indian Hills and my child has an IEP? Dr. Elliot, Director of Student Services @ 339-4000
What should I do if my child is going to be absent? Please call the office by 9:00 AM if your child is going to be absent. Arrangements can be made for homework if a child is absent for three consecutive days.
Questions regarding bus transportation?  Call 330-4080
What should I do if my child needs to ride a different bus home? Just send a note to the student's teacher with the student's first and last names, your last name, and the teacher's name.
What if my child usually ride the bus, but I will be picking him or her up instead? Call the office as soon as possible to notify them of the change. Please remember that late afternoon changes are more difficult to make.
What is the procedure for visiting my child's classroom? Visitors are welcome any time. If you would like to speak with a teacher, you may schedule an appointment ahead of time. Always sign in at the office when you enter the building.
May parents and grandparents come to eat with their children? Yes. Please call the school office by 9:00 AM to order a lunch.
How much does it cost to have school lunch? Adults= $2.75 student $1.85

What time does my child eat lunch?

Please double check with the office on lunch times. Grades 1-2 eat lunch at 11:00--11:30; recess11:30--11:50.
Kindergarten eats lunch at 11:40--12:10; recess 12:10--12:35.
Grades 3-4 eat lunch at 12:20--12:50; recess 12:50--1:15.
Grades 5-6 eat lunch at 1:00--1:30; recess 1:30--1:50.
